Ranchi, September 21: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren has directed the district officials to inform village heads about government’s welfare schemes and the village heads should pass these information in rural areas.
Addressing a felicitation program of elected gram pradhans (village heads) at Patna in Sahebganj district on Wednesday, Hemant Soren said that Manjhi Hadam, Nayaki, Gudait and village head are getting due respect only under the present government.
“Their role is very important at the village level. It is because of that that information about the welfare schemes of the government is reaching the tribal-indigenous people on the ground. The district officials should inform them about the government schemes in detail, so that maximum people could be given the benefits of the schemes. The village heads should inform the masses using traditional methods like dugdugi (alarm raised in village beating drums). Village heads have the responsibility to protect water, forest and land,” said Soren.
The CM said that ever since 1932 Khatian (land record) based local policy has been passed by the cabinet, the pain in the stomach of the opposition has started.
“The state was run by other parties including BJP for almost 20 years, but no one thought for tribals and natives. When our government came, it is continuously working on their rights and rights. We gave the benefit of old pension scheme to the employees who gave impetus to the state. We gave respect to all the assistant police personnel, para teachers, Anganwadi workers and assistants. We are working for giving identity to locals through the 1932 Khatian policy but this is causing pain in stomach of BJP,” said Soren.
“Frustrated at our achievements and work opposition parties are resorting to inciting fight on religion and communal lines. However government will carry forward the work of development and all-round development of the state,” said Soren.
Regarding the letter from the Election Commission to the Governor Ramesh Bais, he said that the Governor has the right to make it public or not and said that the Governor is working in his own way and the government is working in his own way.
