Vikram Sharma Murder: Dehradun Police Detain Garhwa Youth

Gangster Akhilesh Singh Questioned in Dumka Jail

Dehradun/Dumka: The Dehradun Police have traced a vital lead to Jharkhand in the high-profile Vikram Sharma murder case. A youth from Garhwa has been taken into custody for questioning, while a Special Task Force (STF) team conducted a rigorous interrogation of notorious gangster Akhilesh Singh inside the Dumka Central Jail.

The Sim Card Lead

According to investigation sources, the shooters involved in the murder utilized a mobile SIM card registered in the name of a youth residing in Garhwa. Based on this technical evidence, the Dehradun police coordinated a raid and detained the individual to determine how the shooters gained access to the SIM card and whether there was any direct complicity.

STF Interrogation at Dumka Jail

On Thursday, a team from the Dehradun STF reached Dumka Central Jail, where they interrogated gangster Akhilesh Singh for approximately 90 minutes. The team also conducted a security scan of the area surrounding the jail premises before heading to Garhwa for further investigation. It is suspected that the conspiracy to eliminate Sharma may have been orchestrated from behind bars.

Raids Continue in Jamshedpur

Parallel to the actions in Garhwa and Dumka, police have intensified pressure in Jamshedpur. Relatives of suspects Akash Prasad and Ashutosh, both residents of Bagbera, were summoned to the Jugsalai Police Station for questioning.

Dehradun Police officials confirmed that while multiple raids are being conducted to nab the shooters, they have yet to make a formal arrest of the primary suspects.

Background of the Case

The incident occurred on February 13, when Vikram Sharma was gunned down by two shooters on the stairs of the Silver City Mall in Dehradun. The attack took place just as Sharma was exiting a gym located within the mall premises. The cold-blooded murder in a public space has triggered a massive inter-state investigation involving Uttarakhand and Jharkhand police.
