Dehradun Police Crack Vikram Sharma Murder Case; Shooters, Conspirator Arrested

Jamshedpur: The Dehradun Police have solved the murder case of Vikram Sharma, described as the criminal mentor of Jamshedpur-based gangster Akhilesh Singh. Sharma was shot dead in Dehradun. Sources said that the police are likely to officially disclose details of the case within the next 24 to 48 hours.

According to sources, all the shooters involved in the killing have been arrested. The alleged conspirator behind the murder has also been taken into custody. However, the police have maintained silence and are not yet ready to share further details.

The investigation is being personally monitored by the newly appointed Dehradun SSP, Pramendra Doval. Speaking to the media, the SSP said the police would soon achieve success in their mission but added that he was not in a position to disclose specific details at this stage. He stated that police teams are actively working on the case and that no definite timeline can be given for the formal revelation.

When asked about the possible involvement of the deceased’s brother, Arvind Sharma, the SSP confirmed that he had been questioned. So far, no direct role has been established, though he has not been given a clean chit. Police sources indicated that while he remains under scrutiny, no concrete evidence has yet been found against him.

CCTV footage from Silver City Mall and nearby areas has been thoroughly examined. During the probe, the role of a Mango resident, identified as Prabhat, has reportedly come under suspicion. It is alleged that Vikram Sharma had previously caused him losses and had also implicated Arvind Sharma.

According to police sources, the identified shooters include Akash Prasad from Bagbera, Vishal Singh, and Ashutosh Kumar from Jugsalai. After carrying out the murder, the accused allegedly fled towards Uttar Pradesh. A police team conducted raids in Varanasi and arrested Vishal and Ashutosh. Authorities have kept these developments confidential for now.

To crack the case, Dehradun Police deployed multiple teams across nearly 10 locations in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and other states. The arrested shooters are likely to be presented before the media soon.

The biggest question that remains is who ordered the contract killing. While the shooters are believed to be hired assassins, investigators are yet to determine who financed the murder — whether it was Prabhat, Arvind Sharma, or another rival gangster. Further revelations are awaited.
