Jamshedpur: Vijay Mahato of Karandih has been made the district president of Dalit Sena, an outfit of members of the backward classes.
This was informed today by the state president of the outfit Mithilesh Paswan. He said Mahato was given the responsibility on the basis of his caliber and performance in the past.
Mahato said he will be putting in his best efforts to ensure welfare of the backward communities.
He said an agitation would be launched soon in favour of Dalits and their rights.
