400 students from 18 city schools attend Inter School Ethics Fest at KPS Kadma
Jamshedpur: Kerala Public School, Kadma premises was abuzz with excitement as it hosted the Inter School Ethics Fest “ETHIKOS 2023” on November 18. The event, which aimed to encourage students to articulate their ethical values, commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Soni Sinha, Chief Ethics Counsellor at Tata Steel.
The program began with students of Kerala Public School, Kadma, reciting a Vedic hymn, followed by a mesmerizing musical performance. The event saw participation from 18 schools in Jamshedpur, with 400 students engaging in various activities that included dance drama, stand-up comedy, videography, shloka recitation, mask making, street play, band performance, quiz, ramp-walk, and 3×3 basketball.
Eminent personalities from the city served as judges for the diverse events, ten of which were based on mythological stories and ethics, aiming to bring students closer to Indian culture and ethical values. Chief Guest emphasized the importance of ethics for today’s youth and commended Kerala Public School for organizing the fest, expressing her hope for more such events to inculcate ethical values in the youth.
The Overall Winner of ETHIKOS 2023 was Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, with KPS Burmamines and KPS NML securing the 1st and 2nd Runner-up positions, respectively. The fest left a lasting impression, celebrating the spirit of ethics and human existence.
Principal Sharmila Mukherjee congratulated the winners for their outstanding performances. The event’s success was acknowledged in the Vote of Thanks delivered by Headmistress Alamelu Ravishankar during the opening ceremony and Plus Two Coordinator Veena during the closing ceremony.
The esteemed gathering included Director of Kerala Public Schools, Sharat Chandran, Founder Principal and Assistant Director, Shanta Vaidhyanathan, Academic Director, Laxmi Sharat, Principal, Sharmila Mukherjee, and Headmistress, Alamelu Ravishankar.
The day concluded on a happy note, with teachers and students working passionately to make the program a grand success. Organized by the Ethics Club of Kerala Public School, Kadma, the Ethikos Fest 2023 achieved its goal of sensitizing students and teachers to the importance of ethics in their lives.
