Over 270 students from 27 schools compete; winners to enjoy Tata Steel helicopter ride
Jamshedpur, July 29: Kushagra Choudhary and Abhyudaya Singh of Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya clinched the winner’s title at the JRD Tata Annual Inter-School Quiz Competition 2025, held at Michael John Auditorium on Tuesday. Organised by Tata Steel’s Centre for Excellence (CFE), the quiz was part of the 121st Birth Anniversary celebration of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata.
The quiz drew participation from 27 English-medium schools across Jamshedpur, with over 270 students taking part in the preliminary round. The prelims were conducted by Namit Gupta, while Taameir Shahid served as the Quizmaster for the final round, which featured five segments centred on the life, contributions, and values of JRD Tata.
The final round witnessed an intense battle between six schools — Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Little Flower School, Sacred Heart Convent School, JUSCO School Kadma, Kerala Public School Mango, and Kerala Samajam Model School.
Little Flower School’s Ahan Roy and Namit Sharma secured the first runners-up position, while Nidhi Kumari and O.M. Parvati from Sacred Heart Convent School claimed the second runners-up spot.
The top two winning teams will be rewarded with a special joyride in the Tata Steel helicopter over the city — a gesture symbolising JRD Tata’s pioneering spirit and commitment to excellence.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs Parul Mangal, who highlighted JRD Tata’s lasting legacy. “JRD Tata was more than an industrialist. He believed in progress through ethics, education, and sustainable development. This quiz not only honours his memory but also ignites curiosity and celebrates talent among young minds,” she said while congratulating all the winners and participants.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Merlyn Ferdose Anklesaria, Head of Event Management & Protocol, Corporate Communications, Tata Steel.
