Vermi compost production centre inaugurated in Jadugora

Jamshedpur, Aug 11: A vermi compost production cum training centre was opened in Bhatin village of Jadugora on Sunday. It was inaugurated by agriculture scientist G Mardi of Agriculture Development Centre, Darisai, in Galudih.

Addressing the gathering of farmers and other dignitaries, Mardi said Bhatin will soon become a hub of chemical-free compost prepared with the help of worms. He said vermicompost and bio-decompost can be prepared easily by the farmers if they learn the method.

Also present on the occasion, Khelaram Murmu, president of Tribal Chamber of Commerce said all farmers of Jadugora and nearby areas would be encouraged to take up organic farming so that people get chemical-free vegetables and other crops.

Others present during the programme included Krishna Pado Mahato, Sakla Majhi, Mangal Majhi, Ram Majhi and Sibu Majhi.
