Vendors stage dharna before Jamshedpur Collectorate

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, March 14: Manglahaat (weekly Tuesday market) vendors of the city put up a demonstration before Jamshedpur Collectorate on Thursday in favour of their various demands. They said the district administration had not allowed them to do business in Sakchi after they were removed during an anti-encroachment drive by the district administration in the year 2015. Till date, the vendors have not been allowed to carry on their business on the footpath. The vendors alleged that the district administration had earlier promised to provide space to them. They said space should be allotted to the vendors without any further delay. They met Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and handed him a list of 260 vendors. They said they should be given kutcha shops if not pucca ones as the matter was getting inordinately delayed.
