Jamshedpur: Tata Steel today inaugurated a �Vehicle Dropping Zone� near the Visitor Gate Pass Section of the Office Road Gate. The Chief Guest was Dinkar Ananda (Chief Spares and Services) and �Alternate Chairman Apex Rail Road Safety Committee�.
Speaking on the occasion, Dinkar Ananda said that �This initiative will go a long way in ensuring safety of Pedestrians and smooth flow of traffic near the General Office gate.� He lauded the efforts of those involved in the Project and said that safe practices were always encouraged by Tata Steel.
Ritu Raj Sinha, Chief Corporate Administration, Tata Steel, Rajiv Kumar, Head Infrastructure Projects, Amitabh Singh, Head Safety and Nitesh Raj, Asst. Secretary, Tata Workers Union & Member of the Safety Committee were present at the event.
It may be mentioned that prior to this new facility, the area experienced traffic congestion as people would stop their vehicles in an unsafe manner to drop off relatives or colleagues. This often led to traffic snarls. The new �Vehicle Dropping Zone� will help in de-congestion of traffic and ensure safety of all stakeholders.
