Vehicle checking drive conducted in Tata Steel Jamshedpur plant

Jamshedpur, Dec 9: District Transport Officer (DTO) of East Singhbhum Dinesh Ranjan launched a heavy vehicle inspection drive inside Tata Steel plant on Friday. Eight heavy vehicles were seized for alleged violation of Motor Vehicles Act and a sum of Rs 50,000 was slapped on their owners. The DTO inspected cranes, trucks, trailers and other heavy vehicles. He directed all vehicle drivers and managers to keep permit and tax documents updated. He said vehicles should not be plied without documents including licence. He said the drivers should not drive under influence of alcohol and that they should always follow traffic rules, or else be ready to face punishment.
