Jamshedpur: In Jamshedpur’s Azadnagar area, a dispute turned fatal on Saturday night as Md. Israr, a vegetable vendor, was brutally beaten near Chepapul. He was rushed to MGM Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Hailing from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Israr had been residing in Azadnagar for the past two years. Following the incident, police arrested his brother Md. Iqrar and nephew Monu. Mohammad Farooq, the deceased’s son, filed a murder FIR against both accused at the Azadnagar police station. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

According to Farooq, his father, who sold vegetables near Amar Jyoti School, often faced teasing and harassment from his uncle Iqrar and cousin Monu, who ridiculed him as ‘Lulha’ and even pelted stones at him. The situation escalated on Saturday night when they physically assaulted Israr, leading to his severe injuries and subsequent death in hospital.

This tragic incident underscores growing tensions within familial relations, as disputes over trivial matters escalate to violence. Recently, another incident in Kapali involving a land and property dispute resulted in the death of Md. Amjad, killed by his elder brother Md. Ahmed and nephews using an iron rod. All involved in that case are currently incarcerated.
