Jadugora: Vasanti Durgotsava celebrations kicked off at Murgaghuttu in Narwa Pahar, Jadugora, on Wednesday. A large number of devotees of Goddess Durga worshipped the Almighty by playing traditional musical instruments and offering obeisance with flowers and fruits.
The founding member of Murgaghuttu Palli Samiti Balram Das said the puja was first organized in 1993. This year the puja has entered its 25th year, he said.
On the occasion of the silver jubilee anniversary of Vasanti Durga Puja, various events are being organized this year. Chhau dance and Baul music will be the main attractions of the event. A kalash procession will be taken out on 3rd April.
Priest Pravanand Chakravarty informed devotees about the importance of Vasanti Durga Puja through various mythological stories.
