Saraikela, Nov. 2: Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra organized a day-long district-level sports competition at the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Stadium here on Monday.
The competition was held in nine blocks of the district, wherein about 450 boys and girls from the different tribal communities took part in various sports competitions.
West Sihbhum MP Lakshman Giluwa, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the competition.
He said the tribal welfare center was set up in 1952 and since its inception it has been undertaking physical, educational and economic development of the tribals in remote villages. He praised the work of the center.
