Jamshedpur: Unidentified thieves took away cash and ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh from a house in Vastu Vihar Phase I at Munshi Mohulla, Baikunthnagar, Mango, in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Sources said the duplex house belongs to Anil Kumar Mishra, Principal of Hansraj Goyal School, Burmamines. Mishra suffered from stroke on Monday evening and had to be taken to hospital. On his return from Tata Main Hospital, Mishra stayed at his in-laws� house in New Layout, Sitaramdera. Today, when his housemaid reached home, she found the lock at the front door broken. She found out that the thieves had broken two almirahs at the first floor and taken away all the valuables.
Mishra said anti-social elements gather everyday behind Vastu Vihar Colony. He said there is no CCTV in the colony.
