Jamshedpur, July 16: Unidentified thieves took away computers, laptops and other goods having a total worth of Rs 5 lakh from the office of a builder in Ramdev Bagan locality under Golmuri police station area. The complainant alleged that his landlord had committed the theft late night, sources said.
Significantly, after the builder, Umesh Prasad Burnwal, lodged the complaint of theft, Pashupati Das, owner of the office building, claimed it was a well-planned theft and the builder was himself involved in the theft, sources said.
The Golmuri police have started investigation and trying to detect the theft by calling both Burnwal and Das to the police station.
According to Burnwal, he had set up an office on a portion of the building located on Holding No 6 in Ramdev Bagan in Golmuri in 2007. He said this morning one of his staff discovered the locks of the shutter at the entrance to his office broken.
On the other hand, Pashupati Das said they had given Burnwal, who is a resident of Kamdhenu Enclave in Telco, a portion of their house on rent for setting up an office. Burnwal had tried to grab the rented portion by claiming that there was an agreement between the two about the sale of the rented portion which was not true.
The officer in-charge of Golmuri police station, Ramji Mahato, said the police had begun an investigation into the theft. He said cops were looking into every aspect of the incident.
