Jamshedpur: Members of Vaisya Ekta Manch, East Singhbhum, on Tuesday demanded a CBI probe into the mysterious death of six members of Maheshwari family in Hazaribagh. They also raised the demand for 27 per cent reservation for Vaisya community in all the districts of Jharkhand and formation of Vaisya commission.
Addressing a meeting of the outfit members held today at Gandhi Ghat, district president Rakesh Sahu said the state government should order a CBI probe into the mysterious deaths in Maheshwari family. He said the incident had shattered the people of the state, especially those belonging to Vaisya community. He said the government should not adopt a dilly-dally approach in the matter.
The outfit members observed silence for two minutes to pay tributes to the deceased members of Maheshwari family. They unanimously decided to intensify agitation to raise various demands related to their welfare. It was decided to unite the Vaisya community to press the government for fulfilling their demands.
Among those present at the meeting included Ranjeet Gupta, Vikas Verma, Kamlesh Sao, Pintu Sao, Suraj Prasad, Jitendra Sao and Laxman.
