Jamshedpur, May 31: Uttam Singh, chief of blast furnaces, Tata Steel, has been unanimously appointed as the interim secretary of Jharkhand Boxing Association (JBA). He will replace Charles Borromeo, who resigned from the post a few days back.
A meeting of the executive committee of the Jharkhand Boxing Association (JBA) took place on Sunday at conference room of JRD Tata Sports Complex where Uttam Singh was appointed the interim secretary.
The meeting was attended by Anand Sen, JBA, president, Suresh Dutt Tripathy, JBA vice-president, Dinesh Upadhyaya, JBA vice-president, Anil Jayaswal, JBA vice-president, and Uttam Singh, who was present as a special invitee. The meeting was also attended by V Satish, JBA honorary treasurer, and other members.
After offering condolences to past life members of the organization, C. R. Rao and David Joshep Das, and putting on record appreciation for their contribution to the game of boxing in the state, the committee proceeded towards completing the business as per the agenda.
After discussion on the events that took place during the year 2015-16 and the way forward in 2016-17, the meeting ended with a vote of thanks. D. Jagannath Rao, assistant secretary of JBA, was also present.
