Colombo, Jan 23 (IANS) The US embassy here Thursday concluded a 12-day training programme for the Maldivian Police Service in Male.
The programme introduced Maldivian law enforcement forces to a systematic approach for securing essential locations such as banks, power plants, and ports of entry from terrorist attacks.
�This training is important to securing democratic institutions and strengthening the rule of law in the Maldives,” an embassy statement said.
The US embassy in Colombo serves both Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
