Urban and housing affairs ministry team inspect PMAY houses in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: A total of 400 houses are being built for backward and poor leprosy inmates in Nav Jeevan Ashram in New Baradwari under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (urban) scheme.

The inmates on Thursday welcomed the director urban affairs and housing ministry, R. K Gautam and regional coordinator Manish Kumar. The team from union urban affairs and housing ministry saw the lifestyle of the leprosy inmates and about the changes brought about in their living after getting the new houses as part of the scheme.

The team members also went inside the few houses of the beneficiaries to see if proper infrastructure exists in the newly built rooms as part of the scheme for the beneficiaries.  The  beneficiaries expressed happiness at the new facilities and admitted that it has improved their living conditions.
