Unleashing creativity at summer camps, get set for adventure this year

Jamshedpur : It is the season of summer camps as most schools in the city are closed for vacation.

Schools, independent groups and organisations are holding camps for children under every conceivable category.

While there are parents who wait for these camps to begin so that they can admit their kids, there are those
who believe that these are nothing but a moneymaking proposition.

They argue that the children receive the same training in schools all through the academic year.

With an aim to make students best utilise their summer holidays and help them cultivate some skills, a number of city-based educational and cultural bodies are organising summer camps.

Summer camps are fast gaining popularity in the urban and semi-urban areas in the district. With the schools
closed for vacation the summer camps are attracting children by the dozens.

“Summer is the best time for children to take time off from the regular chore of going to school and getting
down to the curriculum.

So, the summer vacation is, in another way, an opportunity to horn certain life skills while having fun,” said Shweta Parikh, one of the city-based summer camps organisers Pearly Gates Kidzee at CH area is also organising summer camp.

Officials said that during the weeklong camp children would be taught how to make best out of waste, drawing, moral science.

Moreover they would get oppourtunity to participate in several contests like quiz, fancy dress.

“Most parents are choosing summer camps to engage their children in some learning activity and also to tap the latent talent in them.

Ours camp has always been the favourites and this time too we have received good number of registrations,” noted the official.

The summer camps are mostly being conducted by cultural associations, sports associations and dance
schools among others in the.

Training in sports and games, swimming, painting and other crafts, different forms of classical and modern dances and music are being taught in the summer camps.

Meanwhile camps are being organised at United Club and Beldih Club. “I always wanted to learn the nuances of break dance and I am happy to note that city is hosting a camp for dancers.

I am really excited and looking forward to fulfill my cherished dream soon in summer camp,” said Diksha
Tripathy, a student of DBMS English School.

the day,” said Priyanka Agrawal, one of the citybased summer camps organisers “I always wanted to learn
the nuances of break dance and I am happy to note that city is hosting a camp for dancers.

I am really excited and looking forward to fulfill my cherished dream soon in summer camp,” said Rajni Srivastav, a student of DBMS English School who is learning steps at Little Star Play School summer
camp.
