
Jamshedpur, June 5: Dream run for unseeded Keshav Goel continues, as he books a semi-final berth at the ongoing United Club AITA Championship Series 2019, been held at the red clay courts of the United Club and Beldih Blub.
Bengal’s Goel drubbed 5th seeded state-mate Shagnik Bose in the quarter finals today by a convincing 6-3,6-2 victory. Goel will face Jharkhand’s Sahil Amin in the semi final who brushed D Aryan Swamy of Odisha aside by a straight 6-4,6-2 win in the quarter finals.
Top seed in Boys Singles Under-16, Arya Bhattacharya of Bengal survived yet another scare in the hands of Arnav Vijay Manral as the former took 2 hours and 5 mins to win by a marathon 4-6,6-4,6-2. Bhattacharya will meet Odisha’s Debasis Sahoo in the semis.
In the Girls Singles Under-16 category, Odisha’s Simran Neha Ekka and Bengal’s Oindrila Sen will set up a summit clash as both won their semi-finals, held today, against Bengal’s Sumeira Jaiswal and Shireen Ahamed respectively.
Matches will start from 7:30 am on June 6.
