Union XI win friendly cricket match against Tata Steel management team

Jamshedpur: A friendly cricket match between the Management XI and Union XI was  organized under the aegis of the Tata Steel Sports Department, with the objective of strengthening mutual harmony, team spirit, and healthy industrial relations.

Batting first, the Management XI posted a total of 91 runs for the loss of wickets in 15 overs. Ravi Ranjan was the top scorer for the management team with 27 runs, while Santosh Sinha contributed 14 runs. Union XI bowler Suman Pandey delivered an impressive performance, claiming three crucial wickets and restricting the opposition to a modest total.

In reply, the Union XI displayed confident batting and chased down the target comfortably, scoring 92 runs for the loss of five wickets in 12.5 overs to register a well-deserved victory. Abhinandan Singh played a key role with a fluent 26 runs, while Nishant added 24 runs and Balaji Bhagat chipped in with 13 runs.

Ahead of the prize distribution ceremony, a short friendly match was also played, featuring VP (Corporate Services) D.B. Sundara Ramam, Tata Workers’ Union President Sanjeev (Tunnu) Chaudhary, Vice President Shailesh Singh, and CHRO Zubin Palia, which boosted the morale of the players. The presence of Company Secretary Parvatisam Kanchinadham added to the prestige of the event.

Awards were presented to Abhinandan Singh (Best Batsman), Suman Pandey (Best Bowler), Sanjay Singh (Best Fielder), and Ravi Ranjan (Man of the Match).

Addressing the gathering, D.B. Sundara Ramam highlighted the importance of sports in reducing stress and strengthening workplace relations.

Sanjeev Chaudhary congratulated the Sports Department and Joint Sports Committee for the successful event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Union Vice President Sanjay Singh.
