Uniform holiday calendars in Jharkhand varsities

Jamshedpur, May 17: A common holiday calendar will now be applicable in all colleges and universities across the state including Kolhan University.

The calendar will be applicable from the coming June 1. In this regard, the Raj Bhavan has issued guidelines to all the universities. According to this, there will be summer vacation for 20 days from June 1 in all the universities and colleges across the state. Similarly, there will be four days holiday for Durga Puja in all universities, while there will be 12 days holiday during Diwali and Chhath.

 Apart from this, universities have been given the freedom to declare a maximum of five days holiday between local festivals etc. Universities have been instructed to follow this order of Raj Bhavan in letter and spirit so that there is uniformity in the calendar of holidays of all universities and colleges across the state.
