Unemployed youth commit suicide after alleged harassment from in-laws in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 14: A 31-year-old unemployed youth, Sumit Kumar Singh,  a resident of Kasidih Bagan Number 3 committed suicide allegedly on Thursday by hanging from the ceiling of the room using saree of his wife after sending his mother to house of his wife’s parent, which is also in Kasidih.

Relatives allege that the youth had a quarrel with his pregnant wife on Thursday itself after which his wife had gone to her parent’s house and the youth got depressed and took his life owing to constant pressure from his wife and his mother-in-law to leave his mother and stay separately.

Sakchi police reached the spot after information and took out the body and sent it to MGM Hospital where the doctors declared the body as brought dead and later it was sent for post mortem to MGM Medical College.

According to relatives, the youth had a love marriage with Pinki Kumari also a resident of Kasidih in June last year. The deceased cousin brother Banty Singh told that soon after marriage, wife and mother-in-law used to torture him to leave separately from his mother. He had also lost his job. Sumit had also lost his father soon after his marriage last year.
