Jamshedpur, Nov. 10: One of the bungalows on the Straight Mile Road in the steel city had people’s heads turning due to a small meeting being conducted in its backyard by Arushi Mishra, a Class 10 student of Loyola School.
This was an informative session for the underprivileged girls and their mothers staying in the outhouses in the Northern Town area.
Arushi has been selected to represent Jamshedpur in Horlicks Wizkids 2015. As a part of her project, Arushi is supposed to educate the underprivileged children about health and nutrition.
She spoke to the girls about puberty. She told them about the hygienic measures they should follow during menstruation. She also spoke about the menstrual myths which affect young girls and women.
The girls were also made aware about the nutritious food they are supposed to eat during this period.
This meeting started with a group of underprivileged mothers and daughters, but ended by giving birth to strong bonds between well informed minds.
