Ultras torch container, labourer burnt alive in Jharkhand’s McCluskieganj

Ranchi, May 29: In the midst of the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand, armed militants carried out a major incident.

A container used for laying optical fibre of BSNL was blown up, in which a laborer was burnt alive. Rural SP, SSP reached McCluskieganj and investigated the matter. A team of forensic experts has also reached McCluskieganj.

The incident took place at Dull Karam Kocha in McCluskieganj of Ranchi district.

Rural SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal visited the spot on Wednesday and questioned the people present there. He told that SIPL company was laying optical fiber of BSNL in Dull Karam Kocha of McCluskieganj police station area.

On Tuesday  night at around 9:43 pm, four unidentified armed militants attacked there and set the container on fire. The extremists who came from the forest first spread terror by firing. It is being told that the extremists had brought petrol in bottles. First they sprinkled petrol on the container and then set it on fire.

After setting the container on fire, they shot at the front tyre. Rescue team from CCL was called. By then the container was completely burnt.

The company’s container and other items kept inside it including HDD machine, DG tracker were burnt to ashes in the arson by the extremists. The loss is estimated to be around one crore rupees.

During the incident, all the labourers ran away to save their lives as soon as they got the chance. One labourer Sanjay Bhuiyan (25) son of Tulsi Bhuiyan, resident of village Chhallidohar, Madanpur, Aurangabad remained hidden inside the container. Since the extremists also set the container on fire, Sanjay, who was hiding inside it, was burnt alive.

Operator Akhilesh Thakur, labourers Guddu Bhuiyan, Dharmendra Bhuiyan, Golu Bhuiyan, Sukhal Bhuiyan and Ravi Bhuiyan (all residents of Chhallidohar) and Guddu Bhuiyan, resident of Banke Bazar were working on the site. They fled from there after seeing the militants.

The contractor’s employees told that when they reached the site on Wednesday morning after the incident, the first thing they did was to search for the labourers.

All five labourers were found safe, but one labourer was missing. During the search, everyone was shocked to see the burnt body of labourer Sanjay Bhuiyan inside the container. The police was immediately informed about this.

The contractor’s employee told that on April 19, during the work near Chama, the militants had left a pamphlet in the name of the contractor. On the letter pad of Communist Party of India Maoist Koyal Sankh Zonal Committee, instructions were given to stop the work and talk to the organization. In the pamphlet issued in the name of Ravindra ji, it was threatened that if the work is not stopped, there may be loss of life and property. It was also said that if this is reported to the police, the consequences will be bad.
