Udayan Sangha hosts golden jubilee celebration of Jagadhatri Puja

Jamshedpur, Oct. 29: Udayan Sangha, a socio-cultural organisation in the city, is celebrating golden jubilee year of Sri Sri Jagadhatri Puja at the club premises in Bistupur. The annual religious programme began on Sunday, October 29 and will continue till October 31.

The traditional rituals began as per Hindu Shastra at 7 am on Sunday which continued till 3 pm. At the event social worker Shekhar Dey, President of the Udayan Sangha, Jyotsna Dey, general secretary Subrata Majumdar and club members were present in large numbers. Later in the evening a colourful cultural programme was presented by the club members.

‘This puja is a landmark in the history of our reputed club which started hosting the puja in the year 1967. So this year is being the Golden Jubilee Year, obviously we are organising this year’s puja in a grand manner to highlight the occasion’, said, Jyotsna Dey.

Subrata Majumdar said, part from this puja the club used to organise various social function and initiate awareness programme among the people of the society to update them.

He further informed the events lined up during the remaining two-days and said that renowned artist Samartya Majumdar from Kolkata and Saregama fame Arpita Kar will present musical entertainment programme in the evening of October 30. On the concluding day, poor feeding programme will be held in the afternoon, Majumdar added.
