UCIL team visits Mechua, discusses issues with villagers

Jamshedpur: A team of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) officials visited Mechua village under Bhatin panchayat of Potak on Friday and held a meeting with them to discuss various issues related to livelihood, basic civic amenities and rural economy.

The villagers demanded that the old irrigation project should be restarted and training should be given to villagers to make them economically independent. They also demanded that the Jaher Than should be fortified and drinking water should be provided to them through the construction of a water tower.

The UCIL authorities assured to take necessary initiatives to resolve the issues and fulfil the demands of villagers. They said they would be visiting the villages and launching a door-to-door campaign to prepare a master plan for the development of villages.

The company officials included manager S Panda, additional manager D Hansda, security manager G C Nayak and administrative officer Mahesh Sahu.
