Jamshedpur, September 19: A workshop on women empowerment was organised jointly by UCIL and Central Board of Workers Education Development at UCIL Narwapahar residential colony.
The Narwapahar management of UCIL invited women from nearby villages with an aim to help them empower and give them a platform to move forward in life.
The main aim of the workshop was make the rural women live an independent life and can have the right for equality in the society and can have a place in the family, society, financially and politically.
Earlier chief guest for the function, Mrs. Ajay Ghande said, till the time people living in the society don’t look towards women with respect, women empowerment is not possible.
Today women have made their mark in every sector of the life and have become independent by their own but a lot needs to be done, added Ghande.
On the occasion Sanjay Kumar, Sukumar Tudu, Kusum Dhar, Additional manager of UCIL PK Nayak, Hitku Panchayat mukhya Shankhi Murmu, Malti Hansda and several other women were present.
