Jamshedpur: The 300 odd contract workers of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) deputed at Narwa Pahar Uranium Project withdrew their agitation on 7 pm here on Friday after getting assurance regarding payment of arrears against bonus and salary hike for the year 2016-17. They returned to work after announcing their withdrawal.
A meeting was held between representatives of UCIL mines and the contract workers in the presence of DSP, Mosabani, Ajit Vimal. Leading the workers, Somai Kisku said the agitation had been called off after the management had agreed to pay the arrears.
