Jamshedpur: The chief executive officer-cum-managing director (CMD) of Uranium Corporation of India Limited Diwakar Acharya today felicitated engineer Archana Pandey for being selected as India�s Most Inspiring Woman by Engineering and Scientist magazine for the year 2014.
A function was organized at UCIL office on behalf of the company in honour of Archana Pandey.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Acharya said Archana Pandey had carved a niche for herself in the field of engineering and technology in the field of mining despite a very low percentage of women in this sector.
Another UCIL official SK Srivastava said Archana Pandey had done UCIL proud through her performance. He said more women will be given place in the organization to increase their participation.
Pandey expressed her gratitude to UCIl officials and her family members for supporting her all along the way so far in her career. She said she still wanted to do a lot in the field of engineering and technology.
Speaking on the sidelines of the function, the UCIL CMD said the company union had given a joint memorandum to the company for wage agreement. He said talks were on with the union leaders. He said the company will be spending Rs 2 crore approximately in the year 2014 on corporate social responsibility initiatives.
