U-16: Hemant powers Jamshedpur into finals

Jamshedpur, May 11: Jamshedpur beat East Singhbhum by 43 runs in the first semi final of the JSCA Inter district U-16 (elite group) match played at Birsa Munda Stadium to make the finals of the tournamnet on Sunday.

After winning the toss Jamshedpur captain decided to bat first making 195 in 39.5 overs with the help of Sanjay Kumar Singh who scored 35 runs, Shivam scored 32 runs, Chandan Mukhi made valuable 27 while Ashish Kumar scored unbeaten 19 runs.

East Singhbhum bowlers Madan Bodra took 3 wickets, Anmol Choubey took 3 while Mahesh Kudada, Devashish Giri and Vishwajit Singh took a wicket each.

Chasing 196 to win East Singhbhum only managed 152 in 34.1 overs and lost the match by 43 runs. Subham yadav�s 72 run knock was all in vain while Devashish Giri scored 21 runs and Madan Bodra scored 15 runs.

Jamshedpur bowlers Hemant Kumar took 4 wickets, Junaid Ashraf and Chandan Mukhi took 2 and Shivam took 1 wicket. For his brillaint bowling performance Hemant Kumar was adjudged the man of the match the award was given by Jamshedpur coach and Ex-cricketer Ajay Gupta.
