Jamshedpur, July 9: City police Tuesday busted a gang of vehicle lifters by arresting two of its members. They also recovered four motorcycles from their possession.
Those arrested were identified as Piyush Mitra, resident of Sonari, and Golden Khan, resident of Jugsalai.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Anoop Birtharay, the accused persons were arrested on the basis of a tip-off. The accused persons were fleeing on a stolen bike in Kadma police station area. A team was soon set up to nab them.
After their arrest, the accused persons spilled the beans. Cops recovered the stolen bikes from Sonari, Kadma, Bistupur and Sakchi police station areas.
Birtharay said the accused persons used to steal motorcycles from various parts of the city. The bikes were later sold to clients at different locations.
