Two positives in Chandil take corona tally to 4 in Seraikela

Jamshedpur, May 21: In Seraikela-Kharsawan, two migrant workers, one from Santragachi in West Bengal and another from Kapurthala in Punjab who were kept at the Ruchap quarantine centre in Chandil were declared positive. Both the patients have been admitted to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur. The migrant from Punjab travelled to Chandil via train. Positives in Seraikela-Kharsawan district now stand at 4.

On the other hand one more positive case came in Jamshedpur taking the tally to 16. The total tally of Kolhan Region�s positive cases climbed to 21 in a space of just under a fortnight. Chaibasa in West Singhbhum also reported a case couple of days back.    

The first Covid-19 positive case was reported in Seraikela-Kharsawan in the form of a 23-year-old of Ichagarh block with travel history to Maharashtra who was kept in quarantine and his report was found to be positive from MGM virology department on May 19. The youth was shifted to Tata Main Hospital Covid ward in Jamshedpur on Tuesday late evening. Administration has started contact tracing.

The second COVID-19 case was reported from Seraikela-Kharsawan when a resident of Chandil tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, May 20. According to DC A Dodde, the person had returned from Pune on his bicycle on May 16 and underwent thermal screening. He was taken to quarantine centre set up at Chandil Polytechnic College. DC confirmed the report which came positive on May 20.
