Two persons, including a six-year-old school girl killed in road mishaps

Jamshedpur : In separate cases of road mishaps, two persons, including a six-year-old school girl, were killed at Jadugora and Baharagora past midnight.

While the man killed at Baharagora was identified as Sudeep Sarkar (35), a resident of Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur, the six-year-old girl child was a resident of Jadugora.

Peeved over the mishap, the Mosabani-Hata Road connecting to Jamshedpur was blocked for more than two hours as local residents put up a blockade to protest the fatal mishap .

A speeding bus that was coming from Mosabani ran over a six-year-old girl at about 9 am. The bus driver fled the spot by speeding away with the bus which was coming to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas at Rakha Mines from Mosabani.

The mishap took place when the victim identified as Guriya Lugan was on her way to a near-by school.
” We have identified the bus that caused the mishap and would shortly find out the driver as well as owner of the bus for arresting the erring driver and also for providing the victim’s family the compensation,” said OC, Jadugora police station Jitendra Kumar.

Another mishap took place at about 12.30 am today as the car Sudeep Sarkar was driving was hit by an unidentified truck on NH-33 in Baharagora about 90 kms away from here. OC, Baharagora, Vinod Kumar said Sarkar was a resident of Ghorabandha area in Jamshedpur and was found lying killed on the spot.
