Two persons including a 50-year woman commit suicide in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 24: Two persons, including a woman committed suicide by hanging at separate places in the city. In one of the cases 50-year-old woman Vimla Devi committed suicide by hanging at her house in Bhuiyadih under Sidhgora police station area on Sunday morning, in another case a 30-year-old youth, Sanjiv Prasad was found hanging at his house in Vishwakarma Colony under Ulidih police station area in Mango in the morning.

According to family sources, the deceased had shut herself in her room on Saturday night after dinner.  But in the morning, the deceased did not open the door in the morning despite repeated knocks.  As a result of it, the family members suspected something wrong and  broke open the door to find her hanging from the ceiling fan.

The sources said the deceased was rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where the doctors on emergency duty declared her as brought dead.

OC, Sidhgora police station, Manoj Thakur confirmed this to be a case of suicide as the door was shut from inside the room where the woman was found hanging.

“We have sent the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem,” said Thakur.  The OC, however, could not say anything about the reason that led the deceased to take such a drastic step. The other case was related to a 30-year-old youth, Sanjib Prasad who was suffering from depression.
