Seraikela, Jan 9: Two persons were dead in a head-on collision between a bike and a mini-truck at near Sahebganj under Seraikela sub-division Seraikela-Kharsawan on Friday late night, taking the mishap toll in Jamshedpur and nearby areas to six in the last one week.
While one person died on the spot another person died during course of treatment at MGM Hospital.
According to report, Jagdish Mahato, a native of Bodam in East Singhbhum district died during course of treatment at MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur while Sudheshwar Lohra, a resident of Gumla in Jharkhand died at the spot.
According to Seraikela thana OC, Manohar Kumar, both Jagdish and Sudheswar were going on a bike to Sinni in the same district for drinking water pipe laying work at a village named Itakudur and near the Seraikela sub-divisional office at Sahebganj a mini truck (Tata-409 make) coming from Jamshedpur dashed them head-on .
The bodies of Sudheshwar Lohra and Jagdish were sent for post mortem at Seraikela Sadar Hospital and handed over to relatives while the damaged mini-truck and the bike have been seized. Police have arrested the mini-truck driver too.
