Jamshedpur, Nov 26: Police have arrested two more accused in the Shastrinagar Tauqeer alias Hora murder case in Kadma police station area, intensifying the ongoing investigation.
The arrested have been identified as Saddab Khan alias Billi (27) of Old Purulia Road No. 8 and Shubham Kumar (25) of Shastrinagar, Kadma.
A country-made pistol and magazine used in the firing were recovered from their possession.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, City SP Kumar Shivashish said police received information that the two accused were spotted in the BH Area of Bistupur.
Acting on the tip-off, a special police team was formed, which conducted a swift raid and apprehended both on the spot.
During interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement and revealed several crucial details related to the case.
Earlier, police had arrested Ayan alias Masood Iqbal within six hours of the incident.
He was also involved in the firing at the crime scene. The main accused, Saddab Khan, has six prior cases registered against him in various police stations across the city.
During interrogation, all the arrested accused disclosed that Hora had been intimidating and threatening them for a long time and had even fired in the air to scare them on multiple occasions.
On the day of the incident, the accused were consuming drugs together when a plan to eliminate Hora was made. Under the influence of intoxicants, they executed the murder.
Both newly arrested accused have been sent to jail on Saturday. Police said further investigation is underway, and efforts are on to trace other links associated with the case.
