Jamshedpur: In a significant verdict, the court of ADJ-3 Nishant Kumar sentenced Raj Kishore Rajak and Kunal Goswami, members of the notorious Amarnath gang, to three years of rigorous imprisonment. The case involved an incident where the duo, along with other accomplices, orchestrated an attack on five young men using a German Shepherd dog.
The victims, identified as Niranjan Kumar Mahato, Rajiv Kumar of Mango Kunwar Singh Basti, Sushant Chaki of Shankosai Gurudwara Basti, Mukesh Kumar, and Shubham Kumar of Post Office Road Mango, were returning from Jubilee Park on two motorcycles. As Shubham was about to reach his home, the accused stopped them, forcibly took their motorcycle keys, and led them to a house. There, a German Shepherd dog was set upon them under the pretext of questioning their presence in the colony.
The attack was interrupted when the police patrolling jeep arrived, causing the accused to flee. The victims managed to escape with their lives.
The case involved a total of seven witnesses, whose testimonies were instrumental in the conviction. Two other accused, Shantilal Singh (now deceased) and Ranjit Giri, will face separate proceedings.
