Two Maoists involved in Mangal Singh murder case arrested

Seraikela : Police arrested two Maoists involved in the murder of Mangal Singh and his wife on May 23 in Raizma village of Naxal-affected area of Seraikela-Kharswan. SP Mohammed Arshi said that on the night of May 23, people of the banned CPI Maoist organisation entered and killed Mangal Singh and his wife.

 Subsequently, on 17 June, the Naxalites put up posters for the purpose of creating panic in Kuchai, Chaika of Ranikela and Tamar in Ranchi. Based on a tip off, Soma Sardar (37 years) of Raizma village and Umesh Munda (27 years) from Arhanga village of Tamar were arrested.

The SP said that during interrogation by the police, both the accused have accepted the involvement of Mangal Singh and his wife on May 23 and the involvement of other Naxalite incidents including posters in Chowka-Kuchai and Ranchi Tamara of Seraikela on June 17. Umesh Munda is being said to be an active member of the CPI Maoist organization’s Area Commander Maharaj Pramanik Squad.

The raiding team included SDPO Dhirendra Banka, Saraikela Police Station Incharge Sanoj Chaudhary, Police Ani Prakash Yadav, SI Akhilesh Kumar, SI Anup Ranjan Bakhala, Jharkhand Jaguars and CRPF personnel.
