Two Maoists Arrested In Palamu, Rs 5 Lakh Seized

Palamu: Palamu police arrested two Maoists and seized Rs 5 lakh from their possession on Sunday. The two Maoists were arrested from Chhatarpur area of Palamu, about 215 km from the state capital Ranchi. The police are interrogating both the arrested Maoists.
Chhatarpur sub-divisional police officer Ajay Kumar said that the two Maoists were arrested when they were going to deliver Rs 5 lakh to their self-styled commander Nitish Yadav. This amount was collected from local taxes. Police said there is a reward of Rs 10 lakh rupees on Nitish Yadav.
The SDPO said that the arrested Maoists are being interrogated. Based on the information received from them, a search operation has been conducted in the border areas of the district.
It is worth noting that the security forces had succeeded in arresting three Maoists in Palamu. The arrested Maoists are members of the Tritiya Conference Presentation Committee. These arrests also took place in Chhatarpur sub-division.
