Two Die in Construction Site Accident near Jamshedpur; Workers Allege Negligence

Adityapur: Two workers died in an accident at a construction site in Adityapur on Saturday. The workers fell from a height of approximately 20 feet. The victims, identified as Ramu Murmu and Lakhindra Hansda from Neeldungri in Gamharia, sustained critical injuries during the fall. Emergency responders rushed them to MGM Hospital, where doctors subsequently declared them dead.

The incident occurred while several laborers were working on an elevated section of the site. Reports indicate that the two men lost their balance, leading to the fatal drop and triggering panic among other workers and local residents. Additionally, two other laborers—Thakur Besra and Ranjit Jainak—suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing medical treatment at Gangotri Hospital in Adityapur.

In the aftermath of the mishap, workers have leveled serious allegations of gross negligence against the construction company. They claim that the firm failed to provide essential safety equipment, such as harnesses and belts, despite the clear risks associated with working at significant heights. Police officers from the RIT station arrived at the site shortly after the accident and have initiated a formal investigation into the matter.
