Two illegal sand-laden tractors confiscated, two arrested

Ramgarh: Ramgarh District Mining Officer has taken action against illegal mining, transportation and storage of sand. Two tractors involved in illegally mining and transporting sand from Hazaribagh near Balsagara Road were seized while they were transporting illegal sand to Mandu and the tractor. The drives of the tractors were also detained.

An FIR has been lodged in the police station against all the involved persons and instructions have been given to take immediate action against those involved.

Acting on a tip-off that sand was being mined and transported illegally, District Mining Officer Nitish Kumar Gupta undertook a raid along with Mining Inspector Rahul Kumar and police force at 5:30 am on Thursday morning. Tractor number JH.BD-2730 and another tractor without number were found carrying sand on Balasgara Road. When information related to sand was taken from tractor drivers Sainab Mahato and Ujjwal Kumar, it was told that the sand was lifted from Giddi in Hazaribagh and was being transported to Mandu resident Raju Singh.

When the drivers were asked for documents, they driver could not show any permitting sand lifting and transportation.

Subsequently, the sand along with the tractors was confiscated and handed over to Mandu police station and all the involved persons including the tractor driver, Sainab Mahato, owner Ujjwal Singh and sand trader Raju Singh were identified.
