Chandil: Two girls, Sunita, 4, and Riya, 2, died of snakebite in Harudih village under Chandil block.
They were pronounced brought dead at Tata Main Hospital. Sources said the incident occurred around 11 pm when the victims were asleep in their house.
Suddenly one of the girls shrieked in pain. By the time, she moved her leg, the snake bit the other girl too. The two were taken to TMH, but could not be saved.
Guhiram Rajwar, father of the girls, said the incident happened in the darkness late in the night and hence no one could notice the snake.
