Two gamblers arrested, released after warning

Chaibasa, March 7: The Hat-gamharia police have arrested two persons allegedly for engaging in habba dabba gambling at the local market on Monday.

Gamahria police station in-charge Ashok Kumar Sinha said that the leader of hubba dabba gambler had defamed the local police, circle officer, and BDO by propagating the idea that the latter were cooperating in the illegal business.

This encouraged gamblers to assemble in large numbers openly and participate in gambling.

Sinha added that they raided the gambling spot in civil dresses and arrested two persons, while the rest managed to flee the scene. He police, however, released the two after mild punishment and a warning.
