Two die in collision of trucks in Ichagarh

Jamshedpur, March 31: Two persons died while two others were critically injured in the collision of two trucks in Ichagarh police station area of Seraikela-Kharsawan on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Amar Mahato (32) and Kaushal Pappu (35), both drivers of the trucks. Both trucks were mangled in the incident.

According to sources, one of the truck was carrying coal while the other was carrying iron ore. The mishap occurred on the Rangamati-Silli main road. Both vehicles crashed into each other at high speed. The drivers and cleaners of both trucks were badly crushed in the incident.

Local residents and police took out the four after much struggle. Before being taken out of their cabins, the drivers succumbed to injuries.

The cleaners, one of whom was identified as Ashraf Ansari, 30, were taken to a private nursing home nearby, police said.

As a result of the mishap, traffic flow on the Rangamati-Silli main road came to a halt for several hours.
