Jamshedpur: The two day second Annual Classical Music Conference organized by Jamshedpur Music Circle got underway today at the Maharashtra Hitkari Mandal Auditorium in Bistupur. Chief Guest ADM (Law & Order) Subodh Kumar along with the organizing committee�s president Aniruddha Sen inaugurated the Conference by garlanding the statue of Lord Ganapathy and lighting the traditional lamp.
The city�s music thespian and guru to many established and upcoming exponents of classical music, Deep Narayan Singh, was presented a shawl and a scroll of honour by Subodh Kumar in appreciation of the maestro�s contributions.
In his address to the audience, chief guest appreciated the dedicated perseverance of the Jamshedpur Music Circle to keep alive the tradition of Hindustani classical music in this culturally rich city. He said that he himself was a lover of music and was happy to be associated with this organization.
�Classical music is paramount. It is my suggestion that Jamshedpur Music Circle organizing this annual classical meet should, instead, make it a monthly or once in two months outing so that classic music is propagated in an effective manner.�
The inaugural presentation was a classical song rendered by Archana Roychowdhury. The closing song of the evening was presented by the popular classical exponent Nilanjan Mitra in his captivating mellifluous voice.
