Two children charred to death in thatched hut in Jharkhand’s Chaibasa

Chaibasa, Mar 23:  Two children were charred to death after fire caught a thatched hut made from hay in which they were playing at Asura village under Jhinkpani thana area in West Singhbhum district on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased children include Rajbir Gope (3), son of Ramawtar Gope and Pawan Gope (2.5 years) son of Shibu Gope. 

While Pawan was burnt to death inside the haystack roofed hut Rajbir Gope died during course of treatment at Sadar Hospital in Chaibasa. Police on getting information took the body of two children for post mortem and handed over the body to relatives after lodging a case of unnatural death at Jhinkpani thana. 
The children were playing in the haystack made roof and somehow lighted a match stick to any part of the roof which led to fire spreading in the hut. 
Villagers could not dare to enter the burning hut to rescue the children due to flames leaping from all sides. 

The tubewells were also not functioning properly which made it difficult to douse the flames and they had to wait for fire brigade unit to douse the flames. 
Few days back, a five year old child had died after fire caught a hay made roof hut in Hatgamharia in the same district.
