Two arrested in Tata Steel employee murder case, bike recovered

Jamshedpur, April 30 : The police have arrested Harpreet Singh (32) and Prakash Kumar (30) in
the murder case of Saurabh Kumar Jha (35) whose body was found lying in a pool of blood at Talsa jungle in suburban Sundarnagar area on Friday night.

The police have not only detected the case, but also have recovered the bike belonged to Saurabh from the house of Kumar from Garabasa in Jugsalai.

A resident of ECC Flats in Kadma, Saurabh was a Tata Steel employee. He was found murdered at Sundarnagar following a dispute over loan given to his friends Harpreet and Kumar. Both Harpreet and Kumar killed Saurabh by using a knife which the police have already recovered.

According to police, Harpreet who is a resident of Kitadih and works at the private bank’s loan section had taken Rs 4 lakh friendly loan from Saurabh. Similarly, Kumar who works at a private company in Jugsalai had also taken Rs 50,000 loan from Saurabh.

According to police, the case was detected on the basis of tower location of the mobile phones o both Saurabh and Harpreet. According to police, both Harpreet and Kumar are still being interrogated at the Sundarnagar thana and would be sent to jail tomorrow morning.

“The police contacted his family members who informed us that Saurabh had come out of home for meeting Harpreet as the latter was supposed to return Rs 4 lakh which he had taken as a friendly loan two years ago,” said a police officer.

After getting to know about the monetary transaction, the police had called Harpreet and took a statement from him.
” Taking the difference in statement into account, the police interrogated Harpreet who finally gave in.

He also revealed about involvement of Kumar and also about Saurabh’s bike,” said the police official.
