Jadugoda, Sep 21: Jadugoda police here on Wednesday claimed to have solved the mystery behind the murder of a 40 year-old man whose body was found near Siddheshwar Hill on 18th September last by arresting a woman and her alleged lover from Rakha Mines area.
Cops said the deceased, identified as Ravindra Dharwe, was stoned to death allegedly by his paramour, Baby, with the help of one Gore Lal Choudhary. “Baby and her current lover Gorelal together perpetrated the heinous crime after hatching a conspiracy to eliminate Dharwe,” informed Jitendra Ram, OC of Jadugoda PS.
According to the OC, Baby, a resident of Rakha Mines, paid Rs 80,000 to Gorelal to execute the murder plan. “Baby wanted to get rid of Dharwe after she entered into a relationship with Gorelal. The two planned to kill Dharwe in the deeply wooded area to conceal the crime,” he said.
The duo took Dharwe to the Siddheshwar Hill jungle under pretext of visiting the place and stoned him to death. Cops suspect the deceased was given liquor before being stoned.
Baby, who stayed in a rented house near the station, had many lovers. She had been earlier married to Ganpati Das and had two children through the wedlock.
Then she broke up with Ganpati and came closer to Dharwe, police said.
A motorcycle key was recovered from the crime scene by police on 18th September last. Later, a police informer revealed that the bike used in the crime was taken to a nearby village. The persons who came to take possession of the bike later were identified and the police gained a vital lead to the murder and ultimately led to the arrest of Baby and Gorelal, informed SP rural Mohammad Arsi.
Other police officials involved in the investigation included Musabani DSP Ajit Kumar Vimal and Inspector Ramji Prasad.
